COMPANY APPEARANCE GUIDE 2024-25

We require our company dancers to maintain a professional appearance onstage and off.  Jewelry and nail polish is NOT allowed at any performance. This includes toenails too if you are in a routine that doesn’t cover your toes. Absolutely NO underwear is to be worn under tights. Tights must be fresh and clean with no holes or runs. Hair must be slicked back tight.

WHAT TO WEAR TO AND FROM PERFORMANCES: Company Jacket/jersey and pink pants are required when traveling to and from performances. You must keep your costumes covered up in public so that they stay protected.

PERFORMANCE OUTFITS: In order to maintain a uniform look, performance apparel such as tights, shoes, lashes, etc must be purchased through the studio

EARRINGS (same style as last year): Performance earrings must be worn for every performance. Additional pairs may be purchased for $5. They come in both clip ons and studs, We will always have extra pairs at performances in case you need to purchase another set.

CLASS HAIR: The Company hairstyle this year is a “low bun,” parted in the middle, slicked back tight. A tutorial can be found on the Company page under the performance tutorials.

On days Collective Company and Express have PBT, we recommend a high bun so your bun does not interfere with floor work.

Here is what you will need:

  1. Hairspray/hair gel

  2. Elastic

  3. Comb

  4. Bobby pins (to wrap the hair around the elastic and secure with pins.

  5. Hair net matching your haircolor.

Instructions

  1. Part your hair in the middle and smooth all your hair with water/gel/hairspray to give it a clean look.

  2. Pull hair into a low pony tail straight back.

  3. Split hair in half and twist each section as you wrap the hair around the elastic using bobby pins to secure.

  4. Keep bun as flat to the head as possible, no “door knob buns.”

  5. Wrap hair net around the bun, use more bobby pins until secure.

  6. Hairspray the front again and secure any flyaways.
