SAFER STUDIO GUIDELINES

The health of our staff, students, and families has always been our highest priority.  Expressions Dance & Preschool follows the Safer Studio guidelines, which prioritize a hierarchy of safety and wellness measures.  As a reminder as we are going into cold and flu season, it is important we continue our combined efforts to follow these guidelines.  Please continue to monitor your children and do not send them to class if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, etc.  Thank you so much for everyone’s enhanced awareness and efforts in keeping our dancers healthy. Please keep children home when they are sick.

STUDENT CHECK IN CARDS

Now that the first few weeks of classes are complete, we are transitioning to having all Academy classes scan in with their barcode cards when they arrive for classes. We’ll be distributing cards to new students this next week. Be sure to hook it onto your dance bags so you have it each week when you come to the studio!

We are working hard in classes getting ready for this year’s tumbling exhibition! Our students are so excited to shine in front of their family and friends as they show off the results of a year’s hard work, dedication, and progress.  Please see below for your child’s arrival and demonstration time.

The Exhibition will give each class 15-20 minutes of demonstration time. They will arrive 20 minutes before their exhibition to stretch and warm up skills. Each group will have set of skills that they will demonstrate together as a class, and each student will get to showcase a few of their favorite “harder” tricks with their instructor’s supervision. At the conclusion of their class demonstration, tumblers will receive an award and can take pictures with their teachers and supporters.

  • Where: Expressions Dance- 128 W Parrish Lane, Centerville

  • What to wear:  The uniform for Tumbling Exhibition is the recital shirt and any black athletic shorts, bikers, or leggings. Shirts can be picked up in May. All tumblers will be in bare feet.  The hairstyle for the exhibition is a slicked back ponytail. Makeup is not required.

  • When to arrive: No more than five minutes before your arrival time (for parking)

  • Student Drop off: The performance will be held at our Centerville studio (128 W. Parrish Lane). You’ll drive around Dicks Grocery and drop your dancer off at the back door of our newest studio, which is the very last door on the northwest corner of the building (behind AutoZone). The audience will drive back to the front parking lot and head through the front doors of our main studio (by La Puenta) to wait. After the class has rehearsed and warmed up (about 10 minutes), we’ll escort you into our new studio space for show time!

  • Guests: Each tumbler is allowed two VIP guests to attend the exhibition. Guests should arrive in the same vehicle with their tumbler. There is no fee for spectators.

  • Audience Etiquette:

    • Please lower voice volume in all waiting areas and studios.

    • Please refrain from distractions that will disrupt the demonstration.

    • Please silence all electronic devices before entering the exhibition.

    • There will be an opportunity to take photos at the end.
